やっほ〜です！最近かな〜り忙しくてヒ〜ヒ〜言ってたんだけどそれは個展のオファーがあってそれに向けていろいろ準備してたから．．．タスマニアで撮った写真を初公開！トルコでする事になりました．といってもイスタンブールではない田舎に居るから展覧会の話はすぐに街に回り，２つのメジャーの新聞に載りました！ウヒヒ。

で、昨日はそのオープニング．　良く行くお店の店長さん，マネージャーさんから大学教授，大使館の方等バラエティーにあふれたお客さんが来てくれました！ありがとう〜！！！

写真はもっとまた後でアップしまっす！

Hiya! It's been a pretty hectic weeks for me as I was preparing for an exhibition that was offered by a photo association here in Turkey. Since this is a rather small town and not Istanbul, the rumor of my show spread out pretty quickly in town. Next thing I know I was in 2 different major news paper :) That was nice!

Aaand, the opening was yesterday. It was well received and there were variety of people came to the opening. I will upload more photos later but I just wanted to write about the excitement!!

おはようございます！　マキラマやっと冬眠から覚めました！！！
いや〜長かったですね〜、実に８ヶ月くらい経ってしまっているんですが、、、時の経つのは早いですねえ．
そんなこんなでなんと今トルコです。メルバ〜！（こんにちはの事）

ニューヨークと行ったり来たりしていますがいやいやそのギャップが面白い！ニューヨーク都会ライフ、
というか東京生まれだから今までずっと都会ライフして来た私にはトルコは新鮮．．．しかもイスタンブールではなく
南のアダナという場所だからなおさら．．．３ヶ月いてもアジア人には２−３人しか会いません！！超異国な感じですわん．

しかも宗教はイスラムだから豚を皆さん食べましぇん．　生姜焼きなんてありえないからニューヨークに戻るまで豚は我慢。（げっそり）そして金曜日から始まったラマダンもあり外で食べている人は半減以下、ですね。。
え、なんでここにいるかって？　まあいろいろですがプライベートと写真と重ねてます！
今日は冬眠開けなのでここら辺で、、、写真で失礼させて頂きま〜っす！

Bonjorno! I just got out of my torpor...:) Gosh time fly, it's already in August!
Things for me is very well, I am in Turkey right now!

I've been going back and forth between here and New York City, and I enjoy experiencing the gap of the two! Ever since I was born I was in city (Tokyo, then New York) so this is kind of a nice treat for me. Plus where I am is not Istanbul and it's called Adana so I feel like I am in, let's say, mid west :) I've met 2-3 Asian people so far here during my 3 months stay. lol There is no other restaurant than Turkish, which is kind of cool... I've been trying many traditional dishes and I like them all!

So why am I here? Well it's mix of personal and business purposes... There are tons of amazing locations for me to shoot...

Right now they are on Ramazan (Ramadan) so people who practice have no food or drinks during the day. Tough, but it has some good reason of doing so.

Anyway I will excuse myself today as I just woke up from the winter sleep :) so I will let you all enjoy the photos from Turkey!

このお肉屋さんすごかった！良く見てください、おじさまのうしろにかかっているのはお肉というより”他の部分”です。。。心臓、肝臓、皮、等等珍味の好きな方は試してみてくださいね〜！
This butcher specializes in parts except meat...! Heart, intestines, skin, liver you name it!



ちなみに頭はお客様用です。

さあて〜次の場所はホバートから西に１時間ちょっと走った所にあるMt. Field National Park!　パッキングされた機材＆スーツケースはこの写真の数倍．．．ひえ〜！！やっと車に詰め込んで移動開始．（バックのLOWEPROさんありがとう！） Mt. Fieldは大昔の火山から作られた細かな岩と枯れた木が絡み合った不思議な風景のある所と聞いて出動。これはマキラマのドラマシーンに最高！という事でここでロケハン＆撮影が決まったんだけどまず着いてから感動したのが予約を入れておいた宿．　木で作られたとってもかわいくて奇麗なコッテージに入ると中もまたメチャクチャカワユイ．　宿主のアンセアさんの運んで来た朝食セットがさらに素敵で気分は大盛り上がり．コッテージの外は大自然とアルパカ。こんなに近寄ってアルパカにえさがあげられるなんて．．．撮影からちょっと脱線してホノボノ一時を過ごしたわん．

So we were headed to the next location, 1.5 hours West from Hobart called Mt. Field. The amount of luggage we had was amazing! We had a few times more than what I show here in the photo (Thanks to LOWEPRO bags!). Anyway, Mt. Field has this volcanic rocks that's tangled up with dried trees and the scene is quite unique. When I heard about the place I thought it would be a perfect location for dramatic scene of Makirama! But before even going to the mountain, we had a fantastic welcome at the cottage I reserved. Anthea, the owner there has very cute and cozy accommodation. She also brought the breakfast which looked wonderful. From the window of the room we see nothing but nature and mountains and Alpaca! It was such a lovely experience to feed Alpaca this closely. What a peaceful moment.

順調に撮影が進んで行って数日経った所でホームクッキング！　港にある船の上の魚屋さんからタスマニアで有名なサーモンとオイスターを入手！早速お料理．．．
まあ調味料はほぼ何も無くて塩、こしょうだけだったんだけど納豆のタレをとっておいた事を思い出してそれを使って料理．めっちゃくちゃ美味しいディナーの出来上がり〜！！！　タスマニアで賞を取りまくったという白ワイン（ちなみにタスマニア産の白ワインとシャンパンは素晴らしく美味しい）で乾杯．幸せ．．．明日は移動の日だからこれで力を付けて寝たわん。

It's been a few days of photoshoot and has been going pretty well. Tomorrow is a day of traveling to the next location so we decided to cook in and get those energy for the next day. There is a wonderful and cute fish market on the deck of the Hobart harbor so we've got some local salmon, oyster and shrimp (Tasmania is known for the salmon and oyster) and cook them all! As for seasoning, there were only had salt and pepper but we found some Japanese dipping sauce for Natto (fermented beans) so we mixed those. It was delicious accompanied with awarded local wine. Tasmania's white wine and champagne is spectacular. We had such a nice meal!

いや〜、早起きって６時、７時くらいの事を言うのかと思ってたんだけどこの撮影のそれは夜中の２時．．．エ”！それって寝る時間じゃないの〜？みたいな時にごそごそ起きてまずはメイク、そしてスタイリング＆ヘア〜。。。私の撮影はいつも時間がかかる．　（人手も）　ということで私のパピマミも朝３時半には準備完了になる様に着付けを手伝ってくれました〜！！感謝！！！

例のボタニカルガーデンには朝４時に着、日の出の５時半よりもずっと前にライティングセット終わらなきゃって事でぐわんばりました〜！この写真の橋の所に立ってるのは母、わたぴはカメラ調整．いや〜あの格好でカメラ調整って結構テクニカル！だってオモーイ鬘もかぶってるし着物会わせると５キロくらいあるっていうからダンベル者．やっちゃいいまちた。

Usually, my take on "early bird" is about 6-7am in New Yorker standard, B.U.T. this morning I got up at 2:00am!! That's like the time some people go to bed. Well anyway, my shoot usually takes tons of time (and labor) to prepare so my lovely parents got up with me in time for leaving the hotel at 3:30am. Thank you and love you my mom and dad!!

By 4:00am we arrived at the botanical garden and set up lights early enough to catch the sunrise around 5:30am. My mom stood at the location for me so I can focus and set up the frame. The most challenging things to do for this type of shoot is that I am all dressed up yet have to make sure about the camera. The kimono and wig have around 5kg total so I felt like I had a good work out every time I had those shoots :)



撮影終了後の写真．後ろに亡霊の様に写っているのは家の親愛なるパピマミ．．．きゃ〜んねむたいところありがとう〜ん〜！！！おかげで撮影は朝７時に終わりまちた．この後みんなベッドにゴーしたのはみなさんのご想像通り．．．ZZZZZ.....

The ghost like figures behind me are my dear parents...Thanks so much for their help, we finished around 7:00am! You can imagine what we did after that! Zzzz....
